Levanzo

City
ABOUT

Levanzo (with the accent on the first syllable) is the smallest of the Egadi islands and makes even Favignana, just 4 km (2½ miles) to the south, look positively metropolitan in comparison. As is the case for all the Egadi islands, everything is concentrated in the main, eponymous town, where all of the island's accommodations and restaurants can be found. Levanzo's road infrastructure is almost nonexistent—there's just one road that leads west of the port to the faraglione, a rocky spire sprouting out of the sea. A few footpaths will enable you to reach other parts of the island, including swimming spots such as Cala Tramontana and Cala Minnola, but don't expect to find any beaches.
