Fodor's Expert Review Amerlingbeisl
If you're lucky, you can snag a table in the idyllic garden of this low-key pub, hidden away inside a delightful Biedermeyer cobbled courtyard. Vines and ivy provide cover from the intense summer sun, and the decor inside is minimalist. The walls of the passageway leading from the courtyard are lined floor to ceiling with concert placards, which may leave the overthirties feeling a tad obsolete. Fish with pumpkin sauce is a popular menu choice, as is the chicken schnitzel. The staff is young, fly, and carefee, and will gladly serve you breakfast—both traditional Viennese-style and vegetarian—until 3 pm. On Sunday, the large breakfast buffet is a big draw. In winter, there's nothing more cozy than to sit inside and sip the ginger apricot punch.
