5 Best Places to Shop in Day Trips from Vienna, Austria

'S Fachl

This quirky little Hauptplatz store, part of a small chain operating throughout Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, gives over its shelves (well, its stacked fruit crates) to a variety of small local producers. The handicrafts for sale are forever changing, but there's always something worth popping in for.

Donau Stein Design

Set within the old Atelier Almesberger, Danube Stone Design creates little works of wearable art from stones found along the river's shore.

Keramik

For a small town, Rust is blessed with several great art and ceramic studios, and this is one of the best. Located on arty Kirchengasse and identified only by a "Keramik" sign (it has no online profile and doesn't appear on any maps) it's home to a host of ceramic creations, including souvenir-worthy stork etchings.
