Although not on the beach, this wonderful complex of villas is the only resort-style accommodation on the magical waters of Chalk Sound National Park, with nearby Sapodilla and Taylor Bays. Neptune Villas consists of two-bedroom, two-bath vaulted-ceiling cottages with either Chalk Sound or canal views. The owners have taken this older property that once consisted of long-term rentals and lovingly refurbished it into luxurious accommodation featuring full glass and stainless kitchens, high-end furnishings including poster beds, rich wood cabinetry, and marble bathrooms—one with shower and the other with tub. Each unit has three private balconies to take in a variety of views; some have a fourth with a hammock to while away a lazy afternoon. Jalousie windows allow fresh ocean breezes through to cool, and there are fans and AC as alternatives. The interiors are delightfully decorated with a tropical feel; guests may enjoy both cable TV and free Wi-Fi service. The resort also offers a superb restaurant, Las Brisas, overlooking the sound, complimentary kayaks and paddleboats, and a sunset pontoon boat excursion to get you out on the water. There’s a nice little beach on-site, and a communal barbecue grill for those so inclined. With midweek maid service, this little gem is perfect for two couples or a family traveling together.
