From your Crabtree apartment, it's easy to explore the quiet, laid-back ambiance of Grand Turk. All apartments are fully equipped, styled with tropical beach decor. Choose the smaller unit if you are traveling as a couple, or book two units together with a connecting door if traveling as a family or small group of friends. Each unit is designed to take advantage of the cooling ocean breeze, with an open concept connecting sitting room and kitchen. Each unit is unique in its own way, yet all three apartments have a similar layout. The living room, dining area, and kitchen create one large open concept room, stretching the full length of the apartment; ocean breezes flow through to naturally cool the space, even though AC is present. Each kitchen offers a full-size refrigerator, a full range with oven, microwave, toaster, blender and coffee maker. You'll even find basic spices. The two bedrooms are entered from the living space, the bathroom conveniently located between the two. The master has fabulous views of the beach and beyond, with a door to access the verandah, while the second bedroom has views of the salina. A king bed, queen, or two twin configuration is possible, so be sure to express your preference when booking. Across the front of each apartment is its own private verandah, with comfortable wicker seating and alternative dining option. It is definitely where most of your time will be spent--when not strolling the beach or enjoying a dip in the sea.
The bathroom is situated directly between both bedrooms. It has a large tile shower with curtain enclosure and comes complete with towels for both indoor uses, as well as for the beach.
Booking is done through the owners who reside off the island. An island-based manager will meet and greet and get you oriented to the accommodation and island in general.
No spa on site, however Oceanscapes is located in Osprey Beach Hotel only a 10-minute walk from Crabtree. Services include massage, body treatments, hair braiding, and facials. You can anticipate traditional treatments or try out one with a bit of island flare: Island Glow Scrub uses brown sugar, grated coconut, coconut oil and a citrus blend.
There is no food or bar service on site, however, it's an easy walk into town where you'll find several spots to enjoy a cold beverage.
YOU SHOULD KNOW Grand Turk is a safe little island, so walking at night to head out to dinner is just fine. Enjoy the romance of a starlit sky and lapping waves.
Grand Turk is a fairly small island, therefore getting around is relatively easy and inexpensive. Car and scooter rentals are available, while cycling the entire island is also a possibility for the active visitor. (Note that two bicycles are provided with your rental at Crabtree Apartments. The whole of Cockburn Town is easy to explore on foot, with rest stops along the waterfront. ATV and Segway tours are another way to get to see the main sights. It is about a 10-minute walk to the Osprey Beach Hotel which offers food and bar service seven days a week. There are several other establishments further along Duke and Front Street. In addition, making a much longer walk along the waterfront to the south of Crabtree, will take you to the cruise port terminal and several little eateries on its periphery.
Alcoholic beverages are available in shops on Grand Turk, however, if you enjoy something specific, it is recommended that you bring it with you as the selection is limited. There are bars associated with all eateries on the island, and several stand-alone bars can be found.
