Fodor's Expert Review Paradise Beach Nevis
Pinney's Beach, Nevis, St. Kitts and Nevis
This exclusive villa enclave cascades down a lushly landscaped hill to Pinney's Beach. Originally run by Abercrombie & Kent's boutique luxury hotel division, it recently reopened after a seven-year hiatus. The Balinese-inspired look (replete with handwoven thatched roofing, hand-carved timbers, and private courtyard gardens) blends with the natural setting. Interiors straddle classic and contemporary elements: carved mahogany and teak furnishings, sunken marble tubs and indoor/outdoor rainfall showers, smart TVs, free-standing gourmet kitchens, offices with printers and customized stationery, and eclectic decor embracing Buddhas, model sailboats, African carvings, and huge earthenware or glazed urns. Each villa has 30-foot beamed ceilings and a vine-swaddled split-level patio with stunning sea views and a private plunge pool. Needless to say, they aim to spoil: only the finest products will do, butler service is included, and private chefs can be provided (they've also arranged delivery service with top local eateries like Bananas). The cool beach bar was recycled from 2,000 Heineken bottles.
