Fodor's Review

This 22-seater off Route 115 has taken everyone by surprise. On weekends, patrons come from as far as San Juan to dine at this cozy farm to table restaurant. Operated by husband and wife team, Juan and Nerylu, Estela has filled a void in Rincón. Most of the ingredients are locally sourced. You may see a fisherman pull up with a 50-pound yellowfin tuna. The menu changes constantly and may feature octopus served over Robuchon potatoes and squid ink. The queen red snapper sashimi with papaya and tiger's milk is divine, and the braised short ribs over root vegetable mash melt in your mouth. Duck a l'orange with roasted squash might be on the menu as well. You simply can't go wrong with any of the dishes. It can get loud in the dining room so ask to be seated on the outside terrace, where you can watch the chefs in the kitchen through the glass window.
