Scrub Island Resort, Spa and Marina
This swanky resort is on a 230-acre island just off the east end of Tortola and provides a posh getaway for relaxing around the pool or beach, enjoying a water-sports excursion or two, and being pampered in the plush spa. The fabulous two-level pool has stellar views and both a child-friendly waterslide and an adult-friendly swim-up bar. Rooms are elegant and spacious with dark wood furniture and colorful accents—they stretch out around the marina, dining, and shopping areas. Both a scuba shop and a sailing school are located on-site. Dining options consist of the poolside Donovan's Reef and the more formal Cardamom & Co. The resort feels like a village, complete with a specialty grocer and deli serving sandwiches and pizza to go. There are also villas for rent. For a bit more privacy, head over to the resort's North Beach—it has a pool and lots of private spaces along the shore.
