You can get to know all the shops in Kralendijk in an hour or so. Almost all the shops are on Kaya Grandi and adjacent streets and in tiny malls. Harbourside Mall is a pleasant, open-air mall with several fine air-conditioned shops. Don't take home items made from tortoiseshell; they aren't allowed into the United States. Remember, too, that it's forbidden to take sea fans, coral, conch shells, and all other forms of marine life off the island.

This gem of a shop has unique fashions and a varied selection of swimsuits, sunglasses, T-shirts, and costume jewelry. There's a wonderful selection of whimsical ornaments and house decor. Shop for lovely Indonesian batik fashion. There's also a cute children's toy area in back.
