Divers in the know come from far and wide to drift dive in Ngarue Pass, a 1-km-wide expanse with a swift flowing current, or the smaller Tetamanu Pass. Snorklers also have plenty to explore in the lagoon where the water is a tepid 80°F. There are bikes to ride on the one 9-mi road and excursions to pearl farms, pink-sand beaches, and motu with nesting birds and scurrying crabs. Note that excursions may not operate every day.
