Lanyon Homestead
When it was built in 1859 on the plain beside the Murrumbidgee River, this wonderfully restored homestead from pioneering days was the centerpiece of a self-contained community. Many of the outbuildings and workshops where servants and the homestead's convict labor lived have been similarly well preserved. The gardens are lovely to wander around in, and at night there are often special events like dining under the stars that can be prebooked on the website.
