Kuta

For most visitors, Kuta is the Bali dream: sand, surf, shopping, and spectacular sunsets. Choose Kuta for an undemanding beach holiday with plenty of dining options and non-stop nightlife. Some newcomers aren't so entranced, pointing to the relentless souvenir sellers and hair braiders, as well as the "Kuta cowboys" offering vacationing women companionship for a price. But hints of Kuta’s less-touristy past survive south of its urban sprawl in the surfer paradise of Uluwatu and the beachside village of Jimbaran.
