Visitor Information

The best thing to hit Shanghai since an extended metro system is the Shanghai Call Centre (962288), where a host of English-speaking operators answer any question you have, help you communicate with taxi drivers, and provide directions to restaurants, bars, shops, and museums. There are also a number of French-, German-, and Spanish-speaking operators. Though you'll see what appear to be information kiosks on the street, bypass these; they're staffed by well-meaning college students who rarely offer valuable information.
