Fodor's Expert Review Red Location Museum

Port Elizabeth Museum/Gallery

Editor's Note: This property is currently undergoing renovations.

Red Location Museum won the inaugural World Leadership Award in the Architecture and Civil Engineering category for 2005. Innovative displays, including multimedia memory boxes exploring the experiences of individuals under apartheid, depict the history of forced resettlement in the area. The museum, on the outskirts of town, is well signposted and safe to visit, but you may be more comfortable viewing it as part of a guided tour.
