Fodor's Expert Review Restaurant Dar Roumana
One of the city’s best eateries is set in the strikingly beautiful courtyard of hotel Dar Roumana. Moroccan chef Youness Toumi has created two- and three-course Mediterranean menus with a Moroccan twist that makes the most of seasonal produce from top local producers. Creative salads, such as figs with crispy pancetta, local goat cheese, and date dressing, are followed by a meat or fish dish—perhaps a perfectly cooked veal T-bone or pan-fried John Dory—and a sumptuous dessert, like vacherin (cow's milk cheese) and black cherries or Sephardic bitter orange and almond cake. There’s an excellent wine list too.
