What happened to "and ways to avoid them" per your email? There aren't any suggestions here on how to avoid these charges, just complaints.

One thing I hated on a Princess cruise was the drink package, was around $500 for the two of us on 6 day cruise. We used our medellions to verify to receive the drinks but they were slow or non-existent. I ask one of our servers why it was happening . He said that all servers shared the prepaid tips; whereas, individuals without prepaid tipped the server who served and didn't have to share with other servers.

I'm a traveler, not a tourist, and I wouldn't be caught dead staying at a resort or a club or a cruise ship. My wife and I only stay in small family owned hotels anywhere we travel to, whether it be Lisbon or Rhodes or a small Cycladic island. In all of those places we've stayed over 25 years we've never once been charged for drinking the water bottles left for us in fridges or bottles of wine, or snacks or the coffee capsules for coffee machines. We make our own way in vacation. Organized tours take away from the local experience, which is why we travel in the first place, not to have our experience feel like we're still at home, but, instead many tourists eat McDonald's or Pizza Hut in Italy and complain when they can't find the kinds of foods they eat at home. You're on vacation, for Pete's sake, enjoy the local flavor!
