Sarah Harvey
Sarah Harvey has been a travel journalist for 15 years and has a background in news reporting (which is why she can't quit her addiction to the excitement of getting an exclusive). She has written for a wide range of publications including BBC Travel, US News & World Report, Forbes Travel Guide, the LA Times, CNN, SF Gate, Business Insider, Smarter Travel, Tripadvisor's Stories, and the Financial Times.
Not long after obtaining a BA Honors in English from Brunel University in London then becoming a journalist, she decided it was time to flee the UK's grey skies and has now lived full-time in seven countries on four continents. They include Cairns (Australia), Male' (Maldives), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Nice (France), Valencia (Spain, not CA), Playa del Carmen (Mexico), Miami (US), Los Angeles (US), and New York City (US).
Sarah believes that by embedding herself in a location and learning from its people about the culture, traditions, and insider secrets helps give her travel articles unique insights. And being able to share their perspectives, wisdom, folklore, or anecdotes (particularly if they've never been told before in English before) gives her life.
Today, she mostly rotates around the destinations that she's the most frequently asked to write about - the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Spain, France, Mexico and a little bit of the Caribbean (which is convenient because she's addicted to beaches and scuba diving).
Sarah has worked as news editor of Maldives Traveller, editor of Riviera Times, and is currently founder and editor of Manta Media Maldives (www.mmmaldives.com).
