6 Glorious Celebrity Bathrooms We’d Love to Freshen up in Right Now

These celebrities may be famous but, in the context of this article, their bathrooms are the real stars.

Everyone loves a good bathtub, especially after a stressful day (which, nowadays, is literally every day). Because we don’t really get out much anymore, it’s the little things we have to cherish and, yes, luxuriating in a pile of bubbles or even just plopping down in the shower as the water hits your back becomes a form of therapy. In these little moments, it’s easy to slip away and sometimes picture yourself in a nicer bathroom. Much nicer. Like, celebrity-status. So, we’ve rounded up a few such spaces (and the celebs they belong to) to give you some #daydream material.

Kim Kardashian/Kanye West

A true one-of-a-kind bathroom, this hyper-minimalist space is connected to a patio, so it gets tons of natural light. In an informal tour, Kardashian (who recently filed for divorce from West) points out that the entire ceiling is a lightbox, which is typically designed to boost moods (literally, lightbox therapy is a thing). With the help of experts and artists, West drew the designs for the “prototype” sinks—at one point, eight versions were made—and their placement away from the mirror, “slit” drains, and seemingly flat surfaces are simultaneously confounding and beguiling. Another neat minimalist touch is the light switches, which are simply three “little” buttons devoid of a surrounding box.

David Harbour

If you haven’t tuned into Stranger Things’ David Harbour’s Architectural Digest tour, you can do so here (it’s highly recommended). His loft, in its entirety, has a personality and style that feels warm yet industrial and is unique in a way that Harbour himself seems to not have yet fully realized. But, the spa-like bathroom, complete with its dark blue tiles, concrete countertop, cathedral ceiling, and palatial tub with four taps is truly something to write home about.

Jenna Lyons

The former director of a little company called J. Crew, Jenna Lyons, who now has a reality series on HBO Max, also has an incredible bathroom in her incredible New York City apartment. A “sanctuary” as she calls it, Lyons’ bathroom is a place for her to “really disappear.” This makes sense, as the water closet sports a gigantic bathtub, marble shower (containing two shower heads), two gigantic medicine cabinets, and—wait for it—a chandelier.

Maura Tierney

A very recent discovery (for us, at least), the bathroom in Maura Tierney’s NYC apartment (what is it about a decadent bathroom in an extremely bustling city?) has a feature to be obsessed with: an outdoor shower. Previously occupied by an air shaft, the shower is complete with Moroccan tiles and, as a whole, the bathroom is devoid of pretension (which can be unsurprisingly rare when it comes to the bathrooms of stars). While we only have a single photo to go off of, that’s really all we need to add it to this list.

Jennifer Aniston

Housed within a Bel Air residence, the partially-outdoor primary bathroom in Jennifer Aniston’s mid-century home is something you might see at a meditation retreat. An extremely green courtyard is located immediately outside the bath which has a generously-sized marble tub in its center. Much like the aforementioned Tierney bathroom, we really only have one angle to judge the space by, but, sometimes (in this case twice), that’s good enough!

Ryan Murphy

While AD says “statement bathtubs are having a moment,” you can’t say the stone one in Ryan Murphy’s NYC place isn’t exceptional. Actually, the entire bathroom is a getaway, with its concrete walls contrasting the floor and the ceiling, both of which appear to be weathered wood. In what’s not really a plot twist, Murphy has another bathroom in his Los Angeles home that’s hard to forget—mainly because the tub is, well, hard to describe. Crafted from Pele de Tigre marble and shaped by artists the Haas Brothers, the tub is very much a statement in an otherwise relatively neutral (albeit, very pretty) bathroom. I need to soak in it immediately.
