A popular walking path along a stream away in the middle of Seoul but obviously from the hustle and bustle of Seoul. It goes on for 5 miles.

Flags of all the countries coming to South Korea’s rescue during the Korean War. Remaining nations are on the other side out of view.

Korean War Museum was excellent, detailing all the conflicts on the peninsula since 600 CE, including the Korean War in the 1950s.

Seoul has five palaces dating back to the 1300s although all of them have burned down once or twice since then, meaning the current versions are generally just a couple hundred years old. Anyway, this was supposed to be the most famous complex. But we were pretty unimpressed. The color schemes in the maybe 15 buildings were all the same and the decorating style is minimalist to put a mildly. So we passed on seeing the other four palaces after learning that would simply be more of the same.

This was dubbed the gold mall on the sign over the front doors. Inside there had to have been hundreds of jewelry counters, each owned by a different person.

Our hotel was just 10 minutes from the most famous jewelry street probably in Asia. There had to have been 200 of these shops one right after another! Supposedly best prices anywhere. Fortunately, Joyce wasn’t tempted by the gold or diamonds, which were there in phenomenal quantities.
