This is another one of my favorite plants - a brugmansia. It was just a little stick a couple of months ago, but once our temperatures got out of the triple digits it really took off.

Here's one of Arenal volcano; it gets enshrouded in mist and fog, so you never know if you'll get the chance to see it. There are beautiful natural hot springs in the area like Tabacon that are heated by the volcano. Neat spot.

I found my quetzal photos - not great - I snapped this one while we were ziplining and came eye to eye with this little guy. They're beautiful. I don't think my photo does it justice.

This one is a little less blurry. I'll try to find quetzals for you. They're hard to photograph - always flitting about. The tails are so long and wonderful.

I have this pretty toucan. I definitely have some quetzal shots somewhere. We went out with a birding guide in San Gerardo de Dota and saw about ten in one day. Spectacular. They were in all the avocado trees. Also saw one in Monteverde. Our guide met us in the parking lot and asked if we'd like to see something wonderful, and we said yes please, and he pointed right over our head. The quetzal was in a tree in the parking lot and no one had spotted it!
