Not a very nice looking crust but it was very crisp and had a surprisingly good flavor. It did not taste of oil at all. I think I might add a bit more sugar to a dessert crust, and perhaps make it with coconut oil.

As you can see, bottom of crust was baked perfectly, no parbaking and not a hint of,sogginess. The pie as a whole is delicious, and I can see the appeal of making this type of crust for certain pies. I would be tempted to make it with olive oil for a chicken pie to see if that type oil lends it any additional flavor.

Almost forgot to take the picture,. Remembered as I was cutting it and called to DS2 to take one quick! It was rather impressive looking coming out of the oven but I would not make i it again.

Deer centerpiece instead of flowers., above. Below, pewter chargers, flatware and wine glasses with pewter stems are used in this setting. We have pewter goblets also but they make the table look too masculine IMO.
