Slaves were used to excavate the cave In the first part of the 1800s and this gentleman became famous for offering guided tours. His family continued the tradition for the next 108 years. He was buried in a cemetery, along with fellow cave guides, on grounds there in the park.

Yay! Got a combo platter consisting of 4 ribs, a bunch of brisket, pork and turkey and a thin pork steak which I have never seen outside of St. Louis where it is famous. Thank goodness we had ice packs, Tupperware and a cooler because they piled on the Q and I ate on it for the next couple of days.

My nephews are a joy to be around. They are kind, hard-working and fun people. And they get along great with each other. The two on the right live together in their parents’ house. The one on the left lives in San Francisco. It is amazing to think I changed all their diapers. It has been fun watching them grow up.
