While Joyce was busy getting her 10,000 steps this morning, I snuck out of the house to grab this bouquet from a local grocery store, along with a card, so she would see them upon her return. Percy I have no idea how you knew today was her birthday. You are something else! Very thoughtful as usual. I am taking her out to dinner shortly at a new restaurant which features seafood. Looking forward to it! But no time to hit the jewelry first, darn it!

Santa Rita, the second of winery we did on our own, which is 45 minutes south of Santiago. Thank goodness Uber was cheap, just $35 each way for the four of us! This winery had armed guards at the beginning of the long driveway and in the parking lot. When I asked someone why that was necessary, he said, “This is Chile…” This winery also had a pre-Columbian art museum, a wine shop/tasting room, 2 restaurants, and a charming old hotel with gardens.
