Santa Rita, the second of winery we did on our own, which is 45 minutes south of Santiago. Thank goodness Uber was cheap, just $35 each way for the four of us! This winery had armed guards at the beginning of the long driveway and in the parking lot. When I asked someone why that was necessary, he said, “This is Chile…” This winery also had a pre-Columbian art museum, a wine shop/tasting room, 2 restaurants, and a charming old hotel with gardens.
