Here are some photos taken in Cannes (11 miles down the road) on a Tuesday afternoon. One could almost call Cannes "sleepy" that afternoon. No crowds. No traffic congestion. A friend had attended the Cannes Film Festival a few days before and it was completely different during the event.

Sauteing yellow crookneck summer squash with Vidalia onions. Well, actually this is pretty much boiling them together. When the water is gone, toss in some butter to saute and caramelize a bit. Serve with sliced tomatoes and whatever else is around. My favorite summer meal forever.
