La Asamblea Fodorite: Barcelona GTG this Fall

Well, I have already invited everyone to visit Barcelona (really, you should), but as lincasanova has talked up a GTG in Valencia and I am not there to enjoy it, I am here to announce one for Barcelona.

Of course, it will be hard to plan, but I like a challenge. So, if you are planning on being in Barcelona this fall (September to November, let's say) then post here and we shall see if dates can coincide. I will top this, of course, occasionally, and closer to the date, but this really does need to happen. So, dates TBA and until then, check out fares. This will be shoulder season, people.

And, as Kenderina said "Barcelona is beautiful in the Fall." Wouldn't you like to see that?

Lincasanova- I don't know if I can kidnap Bob (he seems like a force to be reckoned with), but if you come to my GTG, I'll go to yours. There will have to be a paella there, though, or I will just sit and mope. I will also mope if my parte is not cargadisima de pimientos.

sure can tell you lived in alicante! no pimientos in valencian paella.. but my MIL always put red pepper strips in hers and it was FABULOUS.

i will know some off dates for myself soon. so i imagine we can get this finalized soon.
i have to get a few trips organized and tickets bought ( or we will always find an wxcuse not to go) and then check my business commitments..

would be fun to work around bob's dates if they are good for you.

They look good to me. I only have class and work in September, and I can flex the schedule quite a bit, particularly on Tuesdays when we are closed.

And though I am surprised to hear that real paella does not have peppers, I am at the same time not. All the paellas in Alicante have them (especially if Papa makes them), but now that I think about it, I never did have a single pepper while in Valencia. Funny, but I never noticed. I guess I am not as quick as I thought I was!

This won't just be lunch, by the way. I am going to go ahead and design a full blown day!

i can probably come down Sunday and stay through part of Tuesday. This is just tentative.. but that would probably work best for me.
Mondays are good.

Before we go planning for sure, let's see if any other Fodorites are traveling to BCN in the Fall. Bob is only there on Tue and Wed, so if Mondays are good let's see if anyone else has that in their schedule.

I wonder how I get Fodor's to send me pins and such. I will have to ask starrsville.

I am actually thinking of having a continuous GTG and try to become Barcelona's first physical tourist attraction. So, sign up fast!

Hi Claire and Lin,

september is not the best month for me (I might have holidays), and I can only travel on weekends ... sorry about that.

But if by any chance you come to Madrid, drop me a line.

I think that a weekend would be the best, as well. I will know more once I get to BCN on the 11th.
