Finally! A Kauai Kountdown!
Just now pushed all the right buttons and in a mere 306 days I will be forced to spend 2 weeks listening to the roosters crow and letting the mosquitos chomp away at my flesh. We'll also have to eat crappy saimen!
I'm mad, but I'll force myself to be happy for the sake of the real icee.

Are you planning to stop over on Oahu again or are you heading straight over to Kauai?
The other day I was driving home in the typical ridiculous rush hour traffic on the H-1, and a rooster was standing in the middle of the 4 lane freeway. He was standing right between two lanes and since traffic was crawling, everyone could see him well enough to avoid him.
My first thought when I saw the rooster was amazement that he was still alive and then "what the heck is a rooster doing on the road - where does he think he is, Kauai?"

we're staying up at princeville and i know it's under renovation etc but we got a great deal. it's only for five days and we're not that particular. we've been to poipu before and stayed at hyatt but have never been up to princeville. can't stay too long becasue i don't want to leave our 19 year old dog for too long. hubby will golf, i'll get tan, we'll snorkel.... our house was recently broken into and all my jewelry taken so i need to replace some pieces i've gotten in hawaii over the years and tahiti- anyone know of any good jewelry stores???

Hi chepar and matnikstym,
We will be flying into Lihue this time. This should give you both plenty of notice to plan to come over to Kauai for a loooooooong relaaaaaaaxing weekend.
AuntieMaria always tries to hide from me, but she is not usually successful, so we could probably entice her to meet up with us.
I am doubtful we could talk MelissaHI into going to Kauai after her wild time over there a few years ago!!

Aloha to you too, Kal!
Next summer, huh? I may be able to do a GTG, though it depends highly on how much the inter island airfare has risen to by then. Island hopping is no longer such an inexpensive weekend getaway.
As far as relaxing - I actually find that Kauai raises my blood pressure levels a bit - did I ever mention the time I was stuck in a parking lot waiting for the bank employee to shoo a bunch of chickens away? Patience is not my forte.
