Sailing itineraries between Lyon and Avignon, the Riverside Ravel offers a curated mix of cultural and culinary destinations, including Arles, Tournon, Viviers, Vienne, Chalon-sur-Saône, Tournus, Mâcon, and Trévoux. These ports offer access to UNESCO-listed cities, vineyard-covered hillsides, and charming Provençal towns, ideal for travelers who want to experience France beyond the well-trodden path.
On board, the ship blends modern elegance with thoughtful details such as polished marble, rich velvet and leather textures, large windows which provide plenty of natural sunlight, and polished metal accents that evoke the feel of an upscale hotel. All accommodations are suite-only, featuring king-sized beds and marble bathrooms with rain showers and spa-grade toiletries.
What really sets Riverside apart is its high level of flexibility and personalization. Itineraries range from 4, 5, 7, 8, or 11 days, allowing travelers to extend or combine journeys to suit their travel needs. Excursions are offered à la carte, and can be chosen based on individual interests, ranging from wine tastings and architecture tours to kayaking and market visits. Paired with personal butler service and four-tiered fare options, allowing guests to mix and match food, beverage, and excursion options. All of them include complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi, which remains strong unless transiting a lock or under a bridge.

Staterooms & Cabins
Riverside Ravel offers six thoughtfully designed suite types, each combining comfort, luxury, and natural light. All suites feature king-size beds, floor-to-ceiling windows that open as French balconies, and bathrooms stocked with Natura Bissé amenities.
The smallest accommodations, the Melody Suite (Deck 2, 194 ft²) and Symphony Suite (Deck 3, 194 ft²), are located at the stern and feature a king-size bed (not facing the window), single-sink vanity with a small counter, and a standard closet with shelving. The space is cozy but functional.
A step up, the Riverside Suite (Deck 3, 258 ft²) and Seahorse Suite (Deck 2, 258 ft²) offer king-size beds facing the window, bathrooms with double vanities and walk-in showers, and walk-in closets, giving couples more room to move and enjoy the suite’s bright, airy feel.
For travelers seeking apartment-style space, both the Ravel Suite (506 ft²) and Owner’s Suite (764 ft²) feature a living room with a pullout sofa and a fireplace with an ambient effect, creating a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The Ravel Suite has one bedroom, while the Owner’s Suite offers two. Both include luxurious bathrooms with double-sink vanities and walk-in showers, and the Owner’s Suite’s master bath adds an oversized glass-enclosed rain shower and a dedicated dressing table. Exclusive perks for the Owner’s Suite include champagne, canapés, caviar on arrival, laundry service, and limousine transfers on embarkation and disembarkation days.
All suites are complemented by twice-daily housekeeping, 24-hour butler service, fully stocked minibars, espresso and tea stations, plush robes and slippers, HDTVs, USB outlets, and 220/110V power. Despite all of the luxuries the suites offer, the provided hair dryer is low-wattage, so bringing your own European-compatible one is recommended.
There is limited access for guests with mobility issues. The elevator only goes between Decks 2 and 3. Passengers must use the stairs to reach the rooftop Vista Deck or Deck 1, where the fitness center, spa, and laundry facilities are located.
Food & Drink
Riverside Ravel features four dining venues, with Waterside as the centerpiece. Breakfast and lunch are buffet-style with freshly baked breads, pastries, charcuterie, salmon, made-to-order eggs, smoothies, and juice shots, all labeled with handwritten chalkboards. Lunch adds a pasta station, salad bar, and sandwiches. Dinner transforms the space into an elegant fine-dining room with open seating, aqua-blue velvet chairs, fine linens, and bright green glass accents. Expect à la carte fish, meat, pasta, vegetarian dishes, and regional specialties served alongside regional wines.
For something special, the Vintage Room hosts just 10 guests for a seven-course tasting featuring French-inspired dishes with generous pours of premium wines. Offered by reservation only a few times per cruise, this elegant, floor-to-ceiling-windowed setting is the ship’s culinary highlight, priced at around $300+ per person.
Atelier, formerly known as the Bistro, is the most casual option, ideal for late risers or guests who enjoy grazing throughout the day. A small buffet rotates daily with pastries, waffles, pretzels, charcuterie, sandwiches, fresh fruit, ice cream, and specialty coffees. At night, it shifts to a relaxed tapas-style restaurant. Once per cruise, the chef offers the intimate Atelier Dinner for up to 15 guests, a tapas-inspired tasting rooted in the French dishes he grew up with.
Up on the top deck, Vista Grill offers an al fresco dining experience, featuring a barbecue lunch or dinner at least once per sailing, weather permitting. The chef and culinary team prepare hearty meals on Big Green Egg grills, serving a mix of fish, Wagyu beef, ribeye, vegetables, salads, mac and cheese, and desserts.
The Pantry, located near the reception desk, offers round-the-clock coffee, tea, cookies, fruit, and water. Room service is available, with hours depending on your package.
Riverside Ravel has two bars: the glass-ceilinged Palm Court Bar on Deck 3, home to the Botanist Bar, and the al fresco Vista Bar on the sundeck. The Botanist’s cocktail menu features an extensive list of botanical creations with house-made syrups, infusions, and fresh herbs grown onboard. Bartenders are happy to offer recommendations, or you can try the rotating Cocktail of the Day.
Riverside’s two premium all-inclusive packages include wine, spirits, and champagne.
Entertainment
Onboard entertainment is limited to a pianist and singer who perform nightly in the Palm Court lounge. Occasionally, local musicians or dancers join when the Ravel is in port. Guests can participate in mixology classes and pastry chef demonstrations. There is no casino or stage shows.
Spa & Fitness
Located on the lower level, the 24-hour fitness center offers free weights, exercise mats, foam rollers, Thera-bands, and a range of TechnoGym strength and cardio equipment. Walking poles are also available for use on excursions. A large indoor pool at the aft of Deck 3 features a resistance current for lap swimming and a relaxation lounge. When the top deck is open, guests can also take laps outdoors.
On Deck 1, the spa has a single treatment room with no changing area, where a dedicated therapist provides facials and massages using Natura Bissé skincare products from Spain—the same luxury brand featured in the stateroom toiletries.
Key cruising tips
Health & Safety
There are no medical facilities or doctors on Riverside Ravel; however, medical services can be arranged on shore if needed.
Dress Code
Riverside Luxury Cruises maintains a relaxed, resort-casual dress code with no formal nights. Daytime attire is casual and comfortable for sightseeing and shore excursions. Evenings call for smart-casual: collared shirts and slacks for men, and dresses, skirts, or tailored separates for women. Swimwear, cover-ups, and baseball hats are not permitted in dining venues. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended for excursions, and modest dress (covering shoulders and knees) is expected when visiting religious sites.
Junior Cruisers
Children under 18 are welcome aboard Riverside’s ships, though there are no dedicated kids’ programs or clubs. Still, the line works well for families, with connecting cabins and a spacious Owner’s Suite providing a private living area for everyone to relax together. Excursions cater to all ages, offering a range of activities including walking tours, cooking classes, biking, hiking, and kayaking. Christmas market sailings along the Danube, running in November and December, are particularly popular with families.
Service
Riverside Luxury Cruises is defined by warm, attentive staff who quickly learn guests’ names and preferences. Every cabin comes with a personal Butler, reachable via WhatsApp day or night, ready to handle everything from unpacking luggage and stocking the minibar to booking spa treatments and dinner reservations. This level of care extends across the crew, who are friendly, attentive, and committed to making every aspect of the onboard experience smooth and personalized.
Tipping
Gratuities are included in your cruise package. If you’d like to recognize exceptional service beyond expectations, additional gratuities may be left at the reception desk. Even the gratuities for excursion guides and bus drivers are included.
