Ohmygosh: no!
Yuma is as close to a barren wasteland as you'll find in this country.
It's an RV/camper/bowling alley/strip mall haven during winter.
It's extremely hot, dusty and dry in the summer.
I have a friend who moved there a couple years ago who said they couldn't even find people under 60 years old in the bars there.
I've driven through a couple times on the way to San Diego.
It's a really humble looking place.
Even their spring training team couldn't survive there (the Padres).

I have some relatives who moved there as an upscal option to El Centro and Brawley.
Now don't rule it out it has the worlds largest RV dealership/garage, a Kmart and a yogurt store. 125 in the shade makes your beer get warm so quick yyou's think you were in Germany.
Right up there with Barstow, Bakerfield and Indio as far as great undiscovered places to visit. Bet you could get some great deals at the Motel 8. Might even give you a free scrath off ticket or free bowling shoe rental as well.
