April is a GREAT time for Yosemite. Parts of the park may still be closed - but with only 2 days you'll only have time for the Valley anyway. All of the Valley and probably Badger Pass ski area will be open and the waterfalls will be at their near best.

Its a great time to go to Yosemite. Doubtful you will run into any snow then. The waterfalls will be fantastic. Even though Yosemite Park is quite large, what most people see when they go to Yosemite is valley which is only several miles long. Other than missing a scenic drive, you won't miss much if Tioga Pass is closed. The valley by itself will make your trip worthwhile.

Agree with everyone above... however, to answer your question you miss out on about half of the park, and some of it, especially if you plan on doing any hiking away from the road, is unbelievably beautiful and very different from Yosemite Valley.

Great time of year... no crowds unless it's Spring Break week. Still tame compared to summer. Falls are fantastic then! It can be in the 70's (as it was late in March several times), or it can snow, but by late April, usually not. Had a great snow there two years ago in early April...after they'd already reached 70 degrees! Everything is so green & full of life by late April. Don't miss it!
