Yosemite

We are going to Yosemite the middle of May. Will we be able to raft on the river? Is it hard/easy - okay for kids? Thanks.

Should be plenty of cold water running in mid May but I don't know if they'll be renting rafts yet at that time or if they wait till Memorial Day. The rafting on in the valley is lazy - easy for kids of all ages. But it will be cold, coming from the snow melt high above.

For a more adventuresome rafting trip you can try one of the outfitters on the American River in CA.

I don't know about in the park, but as we drove into Yosemite on hwy 140 two weeks ago, they were already rafting on the Merced River outside of the park. Lots & lots of rafts and a couple of kayaks. LOL, we even saw one raft with a couple of dogs in it.

I'm not sure about rafting, but the falls will be killer in May. Plan to do some hiking.
