what are some great must sees for young couple on a short weekend visit?
Hey guys,
I am a young female visiting Seattle from Canada for a short weekend visit.
My SO is from South Africa and just like myself has never been to Seattle, so we were hoping you could suggest some fun, upbeat and interesting things we could see while in town...
We both enjoy being very busy, surrounded by interesting people and trendy/unique places. We both adore clothing, music, sports, beaches and having a memorable time.. Most of all we just want to experience what Seattle is all about!
Hopefully those few tid-bits about ourselves might help you point us in the right direction!!

Will you have a car?
Based on your description you would probably enjoy the Fremont neighborhood for shopping/dining/people-watching. From there it's a short drive to Golden Gardens park (beach).
Check seattletimes.com for the summer activity guide that came out recently. It's a good starting place to see what's on the weekend you'll be there.

Are you coming soon? This summer? You might enjoy some of the outdoors farmers markets in various neighborhoods different days of the week? Shakespeare in the Park is free and fun, if the dates coincide.
Of course the usual tourist attractions like:
Space Needle
Smith Tower
Pike Place Market
Pioneer Square historic district
waterfront
ferry ride
For nightclubs and music downtown & on Capitol Hill: The Crocodile, Neumo's, Chop Suey, Noc Noc, Showbox are all good. The Triple Door and Jazz Alley for more upscale/jazz blues type shoes. For outdoor music: the series at Woodland Park Zoo and St Michelle's winery.
