Wyndham Palace at Walt Disneyworld??

We will be vacationing at WDW in October and wonder what the Wyndham Palace is like. The brochures look fabulous, but would like to hear someone's firsthand opinion. Thanks in advance.

We stayed at the Palace with the family for a conference in June and greatly enjoyed it. The grounds are lovely and the pools are nice, although the marina is no longer operating. The hallways are dark and depressing, but the rooms are good-sized and all have balconies. The location across from Downtown Disney really makes you feel like you're part of the Disney magic. The staff was uniformly friendly and helpful.

Are you traveling with children or just adults?

My family stayed at the Buena Vista Palace about 4 years ago. We will to WDW area in the fall and I wouldn't mind staying the Palace again, but business has us staying elsewhere. It is a beautiful hotel and the rooms were equally nice & comfortable. We had two bedrooms that connected with a shared living room in the smaller suite complex. You are also within walking distance to Pleasure Island. We ate at the hotel's restaurants and Outback Restaurant. The food was very good, even at the pool snack bar. Free bus transport to WDW attractions. Overall we had a great time here. (www.bvp-resort.com)

Thanks for the input, Laura. We will be travelling with two - a 12 and 13 year old. Any more suggestions? This is our first trip to Disney World. Again, thanks. Gave

Hi Gabe -

I took two small children (3 & 5) and they liked the pool area. However, it might be very tame for teenagers, and there isn't a lot else there, except that it is a short walk to Downtown Disney, which might be a good or bad thing. Have Fun!

Have not stayed at any hotels in orlando as we lived approx. 40 minutes from disney world, but wanted to encourage you to see epcot while there and my grandchildren (ages 9 and 12) loved typhoon legune (they could swim with the sharks and ride the waves there) magic kingdom was also great. so much to do in central florida. you could also rent a car to see the kennedy space center just a short ride out of orlando. Have a great vacation. Oct. is a nice month in central Fla.
