which weather website is most accurate

traveling to boston next week and it's amazing how extended forecasts differ from weather.com to accuweather to weather underground. anybody spent time comparing these 'casts for accuracy? which one is best?

Whenever I travel, I look up the local TV stations and newspapers for weather forcasts online. Noone knows the weather in certain regions like the people who forcast there day in and day out.
For Boston:
www.whdh.com
www.wbz.com
www.thebostonchannel.com
Have fun in Boston!

I've been pretty impressed with weather.com. I rely on it a lot locally, and it seems pretty accurate. They appear to update regularly, so If a storm is delayed or whatever, they amend the forecast. I also appreciate the 10-day forecast. It's good for planning even though I know that thje accuracy declines a few days out. I've also used it for travel, but I lose the biggest benefit when I'm away-- the chance to log in at the last minute to see if anything has changed!

I know you asked about weather forcasts before traveling, but for my local weather I like the desktop application called WeatherBug. It runs silently, but when there's a weather advisory in my area the weather bug icon, which is naturally a bug, makes a little chirping sound and flashes. When you click on it it'll tell you what's up, be it damaging winds, dense fog warnings, or whatever.

Last summer I was alarmed to get a weather alert in late morning that ended up being a high heat index. With humidity factored in, the temp was supposed to be about 105 degrees...stay indoors, don't do anything strenuous without taking frequent breaks. My son was at band camp that week! It broke my heart worrying about him after I found that out!

This time of year they go to the office Christmas party, drink too much and then just flip a coin. More seriously, winter in Boston is so changeable forecasts are difficult and not real reliable. Even 24 hours out from a major storm 3 major TV stations, and various web sites can differ greatly and there seems to be little consistency on which is better. It does not take much shift in Gulf stream to turn a foot of snow into a few inches of rain. Bring warm clothes, something for your feet and have a good time.
