Where to stay in Hilton Head?

Any recommendations as to where to stay in Hilton Head for our family vacation? We like good beaches, swimming pools and biking. Money is not really an issue, we like to stay at better places. Overall cleanliness of the property is very important to us. A friend recommended Sea Pines, anyone stay there?

Been to HHI 8-10x in my life. We like Palmetto Dunes--Sea Pines is not as upscale, probably more active (read: BUSY). We have always rented homes or condos. You can ride your bike ON THE BEACH there or ride on the numerous bike paths throughout the area. There are a # of great hotels in the Palmetto Dunes area as well. Having stayed in many of the areas, we prefer PD and have stayed there the last 4x. The ultimate is to rent a house with a pool oceanfront (if $ is not an object, costs about $8000 a week in the summer)!

We stayed in the Villa Mare condo complex in Palmetto Dunes last summer. The beach area is lovely with lots of great bike riding. Our friends stayed at a condo complex down the street called the Windsor Court(?) which was
newer and had nicer amenities. I've been told the Westin is very nice if you opt not to rent a condo. I don't think its in Palmetto Dunes. It's just nice to have the space to spread out if you have kids and like to eat in for breakfast and lunch.

Does anybody know the Crowne Plaza Resort in HH? We made a reservation there, rates were good, looks good, still, I'd like to hear it from you...
Thanks.

melech: Crown Plaza is gorgeous! I've stayed there a couple of times. Great beach, lots of amenities. Lots to do on Hilton Head. I know you'll have a great time.

Thanks, Donna,

Now, if you could arrange a sunny warm weather -- I'll thank you again.
