Where to go between San Diego and San Francisco

We are going to San Diego on Thursday and spending a week there - leaving on the 5th Oct. We then have 3 days before checking into our hotel in San Francisco. We spent three weeks there last year so we have been to Solvang, San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles etc so my question is - what suggestions are there for these three days and nights. There are 3 of us - husband and grown up son and me of course.
I love to walk but the other two don't. We all like nice restaurants, wine and comfort.
Many thanks

As you leave San Diego and drive north, you might enjoy stopping at Temecula. There are more than 25 wineries all on or around the Rancho California exit from Hwy. 15. Then you can continue north on 15 into LA and on up north. I think a stop in Monterey would be fun. I enjoy the wineries of Carmel Valley and the beautiufl ocean scenery. You could also visit the Aquarium at Monterey.

Have fun.

Monterey is a good choice for closer to San Francisco. Maybe 2 nights there, and one night in Santa Barbara, Laguna, or Newport Beach on your way north?

I was going to suggest Yosemite, but since the men folk don't like to walk.... plus, I don't know what the weather is like there in early October. So...I guess that might not be such a great suggestion. The coastal places mentioned are all lovely, but it sounded like you'd already been to many of those places.
