What to see in Nashville

Looking to go to Nashville in October. Is there enough to keep you busy if you stay for one week. Any ideas on what to see and do would be great. We would then be travelling down to Florida so any trip ideas on the way would also be helpful.
Thanks

Nashville - Las Palitas Popsicles(yes they are that good to stop and only$2.50 each), Ryman, Grand Ole Opry, Trashy Ladies Tour Bus(blank on the name at the moment), Country Music Hall of Fame, eat at The Loveless Cafe. I don't think I could spend a week there. I think 2-4 days would be plenty unless you really really like country music.

Mammoth Cave, Corvette Museum in Kentucky. This is North of Nashville and slightly out of you way.
Smokey Mountains and area. Dollywood is nearby, if that interests you.

I think between Nashville and the surrounding area, you could stay busy for a week if you wanted to. It depends on what interests you - music? History? Are you foodies? You might also, as spirobulldog suggests, split the time between Nashville and the mountains, though October in the mountains will be crowded (especially on the weekends). The CMHOF is great. Try to see a show at the Ryman (they have a big variety of acts, not just country - actually, most of the live music in town is not country) and/or get tickets to the Opry. There are several plantations around - Belle Meade, Traveler's Rest, Carnton in Franklin. The Vanderbilt campus is lovely and is near Centennial Park (with the Parthenon) and Hillsboro Village, a fun area to walk around.

Possible day trips: Franklin (about 20 minutes south of downtown, fun downtown area), Lynchburg (Jack Daniels distillery), Mammoth Cave, even Chattanooga.

I'd say one can spend at least four days in the area, more if you explore outside the city on day trips. Did you search a guidebook or this website? This is highly recommended.
