Buona Sera Statia:

I am so jealous of you & your hubby!! Venice! Tonight I am travelling 2 hours to spend the weekend with my mom in the San Joaquin Valley. We will probably have some sort of red wine, Petit Sirah?

The next fun trip will be to Puerto Vallarta in Dec with the DH and Cabo in Feb. with DH & DD. I am also toying with the idea of Spain in June for my 50th!!

Can't wait to hear about your trip!

It is still early here on the west coast, so water is my poison for now. Later will switch to Pinot Grigio.

Next travel destination is Seattle over Thanksgiving. Time to go celebrate the holiday at the inlaws there, then visit old friends and see the city again. Staying a few nights north of Seattle, then a few nights in downtown, so it should be fun.

We will stay home for Christmas, but then head back up to WA right after that for a week. We are going to Leavenworth with family to go ski, snowshoe, and relax.

Then in either Jan. or Feb. a girlfriend and I are headed to Scotland. Can't wait!

Statia--I am jealous...enjoy it all for me!

Statia,
I may be picking your brain later as we are thinking of going there for springbreak with the kids(rome and Florence too)

I am in Kansas City on business, but tomorrow I will drive into Lawrence KS for their Homecoming with my colldge roomate. I cannot wait to see her as well as others frinds from the 80's!!!

Poison - probably sparkling water since I have to entertain clients at dinner. I tend to slir after just one glass of wine.

Statia,

I hope you are having a wonderful time.

My poison is water right now. I'm leaving on my next trip, a Baja Cruise, in about 2 hours. I hope to be drinking a Margarita aboard the ship in about 2.5 hours.

Just came on-line for a last minute check of the weather. (70-75 and sunny all weekend!) =D>

Have a nice weekend everyone!

I just poisoned myself with a giant cinnamon roll with orange icing. I couldn't help myself--it was there, it was free, and it was calling my name!!

I am ashamed. I must be punished. This means another mile on the treadmill tonight.

Statia,

Thank you so much for taking time away from your vacation to hang with us! It sounds like you're having a great time.

Poison right now is hot green tea, but I'm sure I'll switch to a Calfornia blend called "Reds" later on. I've been nursing a bottle all week and there's about half a glass left.

Sadly, we don't have much travel planned; NM to visit family at Christmastime, and we have a few family driving trips coming up next year, but boy I would love to do a short, impromptu trip somewhere with the girls...New York? I've never been and it's finally starting to call my name.

Current poison is my 2nd cup of coffee, but later it will probably be a nice California chardonnay, maybe Macrostie (did I spell that right?).

Next trip INDIA! leaving Dec 25. A whole new country where we've never been! (A whole new subcontinent, in fact.)

Hello Statia ~ so glad to hear about your evening! Have a wonderful trip.

My husband and I are planning a little get-a-way to New Hampshire in December.

However, we are starting to get very excited over next year's family (plus girlfriend) trip to Portugal. We are even planning a side trip to Spain!

My dear S&BIL are generous people who are letting us use their condo. And my husband recently informed me that we have enough FF miles to fly to the UK. Now we just all have to pin down our travel dates.

WooHoo!

Happy travels everyone!!!

Oh Statia~thank you so much for posting. Just the thought of Venice brings back such great memories. We were in Venice this same time 3 years ago. I celebrated my bday one glorious afternoon on Burano and sailed home to drinks on the Danieli patio. I think you renewed your vows soon after that in that city of magic.

I hope you are having good weather, great lovin' and a glorious time.

Poison soon will be chardonnay.

We just got back from 2 weeks on the East Coast. Our next officially planned trip is to Vancouver,BC in early April(business with me as the trophy wife). I have two paid for tix to Seattle on Alaska so might just have to zoom up there to catch my nephew in his Christmas play or relax with my sister in the snow.

There the thought of a long weekend in NYC in June since we are now JetBlue converts.

Too funny, Pam! Can I take a raincheck? (I've got a massage scheduled in a couple of hours -- better than any poison!)

I'll toast with you anytime! How is the remodel going? I hopefully will see you and Phil Flash at the GTG in Yountville(and maybe the very pregnant Robin?? on the streets of the Festival.

If, for some reason, we don't see you before your trip to India: Namaste.

Just finished a bottle of chilled bone-dry fino (yum yum). The bottle didn't have much left in it.

I'm travelling to SF a week on Saturday - my first trip to the US! Be nice to me, all you over there.

Buona Sera dear Statia, how fun to hear from you, that is a surprise. As usual I have to go shopping for tonights drink. I will buy Prosecco in honor of you two being in Venice!

Just received the most beautiful photos of Venice taken by our Tom here on Fodor's. He is a fantastic photographer. I told him I could almost here the waves lapping against the shoreline.

Enjoy every precious moment of your time in Venice.

I have to start working on a Rome/Paris trip for next May that a friend and I are planning. And sometime after the holidays and the January storms are over I will be going to Portland OR.

Since it is after midnight there I will say buena notte!!

No poison for me tonight...I was 'poisoned' the last two nights, that's enough.

Let's see, I have a trip to DC in mid-November but that doesn't count because it's for a conference. Then a trip to Houston for Thanksgiving but that doesn't count 'cause it's family.

However...a week after Txgiving I'm headed to Sydney and then onto New Zealand - yeah!! My first vacation since January...and 1st time in Oceania. Two whole weeks!

Statia,
I'm crying in my Vodka Tonic wishing I was in Venice and not crying over my dear roof that went sailing with Wilma!
Oh....those Flintstones.

Add me to the list of people who are jealous of Statia! Pino Grigio all iced down, just waiting for my drinking partner to get home... Next trip is a 12 night Panama Canal cruise in February to celebrate 25 years of marital bliss!! Just a little over 3 1/2 months away and oh so many pounds to go away between now & then.....

Hi Statia & everyone --

All these trips sound great but I am just going to a little resort in PA for Thanksgiving & then in February to our ski house also in PA. Have some ideas for 2006 but nothing concrete yet.

My poison?! -- I am off to a Halloween Party now & will start the night with red wine & then, who knows ...

Have a great weekend all!
