Like Melissa, it's too early for me to have my drink yet.
Not traveling anywhere this Thanksgiving. To be perfectly honest, the holidays stress me out a little. There's so much preparation for all of the food for the family and the cleanup is a real chore. I'm wondering if I should suggest we go out to eat instead.
Last year we traveled to Lake Tahoe to do some skiing - and just thinking back on how stress free that Thanksgiving was has me longing for another Thanksgiving trip.

Happy Friday Statia! I hope you had a great time in Venice.
I missed this until now. I'm trying to finish my Italy trip report for the Europe board.
It's my favorite VO Manahattan. I have to stock up as I'll be in Paris over Thanksgiving. Struggling to get a Manhattan decently made with a smooth, blended Canadian whiskey. As my friend sips pastis after pastis telling me what a perfect place France is.

I look forward to photos and stories about Venice, Statia..welcome home~
Poison tonight so far has been Earl Grey tea, we are having a big storm, big wind, big rain, big big..lol.
Most likely a Pinot Noir with dinner.
Thanksgiving...our first in our new home. With no children or family nearby ( quivering lip)
So the Yankee and Pup and I will have a tiny turkey and the trimmings and see how Thanksgiving is in the Great PNW

Hello all. Tonight's poison is my usual merlot.
Our usual Thanksgiving plan is to go to Houston to visit family. However this year has been so stressful we are thinking of taking an impromptu road trip instead. I'm not sure where we would go. We have a few ideas, but nothing is set in stone at this point.
Faina, enjoy the wine and have a nice evening with Mr. Again. ;-)

My poison is my usual Friday night cheap red wine. And do I ever need it tonight. Working in the lunchroom with first and second graders on Halloween and the following days as they eat their candy is challenging!
We won't be traveling for Thanksgiving this year. As I've already mentioned on FF R&R, my husband is scheduled for his last chemo the day after! He's also scheduled to work that day. But I'm sure that'll all get worked out somehow. We have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!

Hello CAPH, I am sorry that your husband has to go through one more chemo session but so happy for all of you it is the last one. I would imagine even if you have just a short time together for your Thanksgiving dinner it will be very special. Best wishes to both of you.

Fuzzy Navel.
Thanksgiving - nowhere! Family is traveling here. Turkey Day in an old farmhouse in the midst of renovation. We'll see how much I can get done in a short period of time. Cooking on a vintage GE stove (from the 50').
Menu will include bamakelly's corn casserole for sure!

Have to admit my poison tonight was Hagen Daz Chocolate Chocolate Chip. Still having gellato withdrawals from my Italy trip in Sept!
I won't be traveling anywhere this Thanksgiving, as airfare is just too high! Normally, I spend Thanksgiving skiing (live in Park City), but if we're not open by then, I'll be hiking in Zion Natl Park.
Happy Friday all!

I've enjoyed reading everyone's plans.
Thanksgiving isn't celebrated here in our Dutch territory, but I just might have to make bamakelly's corn casserole anyhow. Yum, yum....I've made it more than once.
As far as my photos, I posted some from my last trip to Venice and have debated about posting any this time. I'm working on a CD for DH to take to the family in Houston, but this was my first time doing so much experimenting with strictly digital photos. We'll see.

Thanks, LoveItaly! Considering that we thought he may be having chemo into February, we're extremely grateful that it will be over the day after Thanksgiving! And actually, Thanksgiving dinner should be a good one. Since it's the day *before* chemo, he should be feeling good and actually able to enjoy the meal! So, as I said, we have much to be thankful for!

We ended up not having any wine at the thing tongiht! The line was too long ,and we were too interested in seeing things. So just water for me.
CAPH--I am so glad that all of this is almost over for your family! I can only imagine how Thanksgiving will be truly special for you this year. Very happy to hear this news!!!

My poison? Schuylkill Punch with a twist of lime...
I'm planning to go to Altoona, PA for Thanksgiving: not a tourist destination, to be sure, (except for the World Famous Horseshoe Curve )
but one that will be filled for me with lots of love and laughter and Cajun fried turkey.

Last night's poison was sweet tea at our favorite Mexican dive. The grandgirls were with us, so had to act "right"!
Thanksgiving is all up in the air this year. Usually escape to the beach shack for some R&R and then ends up the kids all follow. But, this year, one in the midst of a divorce has to hand the little ones over the weekend of Thanksgiving so we may just have to stay close to her and those sweet babies.

Hello All, Enjoyed this post as always. Please please please, Statia, do publish some photos!
I had a nose boo-boo fixed last week and stitches removed this week. Didn't I whimper with the numbing needle and stitch removal so was happy to be able to have some poison. Sangiovese de Romagna (very cheap stuff btw) and newest Taco Bell snack (really quite good actually!) being advertised on the telly lately.
DH and I get in the car on Thanksgiving Day a.m. and start driving. Our goal is to find a town on the water, stay a couple of nights and come back before the rush on Sunday. We have gotten as far as Savannah (from Annapolis Md area). We pack turkey sandwiches as many restaurants are closed!
