What's on Your Mind and What's Your Poison?

I hate to steal Statia's thunder but I've not seen her usual Friday night "What's Your Poison and Where Are You Going" thread. She must be out on her new scooter with the wind in her hair and the sound of the surf all around.

OK after weeks of not having the ingredients for a VO Manhattan I finally stopped tonight at the local liquor store and picked them up. Finally it's a VO Manhattan for me.

On my mind is hoping for snow. I have a social obligation tomorrow I'd rather avoid. If we get enough snow in central Indiana I'll be able to beg off with the old snow excuse.

For travel (in honor of Statia) I am soooooo looking forward to the GTG in Boston next weekend. I hope to see lots of Fodorites there!

Planning a long April weekend in NYC. Not too far from home and I've been many times, but I can not WAIT to get there! Starting to plan the next Europe trip too. . . Poison on this very cold, sub-zero night, is a nice Syrah.

Well, I opened a bottle of California Chardonnay to use in a dish I prepared for dinner, as I sit here tapping my foot impatiently for my DH to get home! What's on my mind...I really can't say

On my mind? How to get through the night with 4 14/15 yo boys overnight for DS birthday. Fortunately they are off early tomorrow for snowboarding.

My poison? Gin & Tonic. Now where is the lime, I just had it......

Snow comin' in this way too. Just chillin', dreaming about Hawaii with my lovely Canadian beer, Molson Ice.

Just finished reading a letter from my folks, (and my visiting) brother and nephew - where they are all enjoying the nice warm weather. ...Down across town in Patrick's neck of the woods.

I am sick of winter.

I had a lovely glass of Cambria pinot. On my mind? A friend just reported that her husband lost his job. That is very devastating news. I only hope that some day they can look back on this as a blessing in disguise.

Mr. Wonderful made us vodka martinis. He mixed them up in the metal thingy and we keep pouring them out until they're gone. We're watching OPEN WATER, a movie about these poor pitiful people who get left behind on a deep dive. I'm soooo sad for them. They're...well, I'll not tell you or I'll ruin it for you but it's pathetic.

ONe more drinky from this thingy and I'll be sobbing

LOL...Tandori Girl, we just finished watching Open Water too... I was not expecting that ending!

Poison du soir is a cheap Sangiovese I picked up at Trader Joe's while getting snowstorm provisions this afternoon...it's not the worst for $.

Wishing it was snowing now already! The waiting is the worst part!
