What Restaurants in Las Vegas Have the Most Interesting Atmosphere?

I've been to LV before, and have read a great many of the old posts here about restaurants.
We're going to LV in a couple weeks for my DH's birthday, and I'm wondering what restaurants stand out most for atmosphere (still with good food, of course. We don't want Medieval Times or cheesiness). We got a great rate at Venetian of $119!

To be more specific, I don't necessarily mean sophisticated atmosphere, just interesting and memorable...something unique.
I've read a lot of comments about places like Aureole and Red Square. They sound interesting to me.

Anyone have any favorite recommendations?
Thanks.

The sushi restaurant at Bellagio has a jellyfish tank behind the chefs with fluorescent lights. Its beautiful and the sushi is very good.

The Voodoo Lounge in the Rio.It is on the top floor of the hotel, making it the highest point to see the entire city and strip. The view is amazing. The food is pricey but good. Very good atmosphere, always a party feel.
We have celebrated a couple of birthdays there and they do a nice cake and candle thing for you too

Any of the places in The Bellagio that overlook the fountains would be spectacular.

Stephano's at The Golden Nugget. It's really pretty and the food is good and the waiters are wonderful and fun. We go every trip. If you like The Amazing Jonathan (an acquired taste!), eat at Stephano's before seeing his looney show......

I'll go w/Red Square. It is interesting especially if you have a vodka & caviar fetish & the food is quite good.

I thought Stratosphere was higher than Rio's VooDoo Lounge?!

I have always liked Outback Steakhouse for atmosphere and food. These places resemble a sort of ranch in the Australian outback!! Really cool---lots of artifacts on the walls.

Just a hint--go early because this place is always crowded. Great food.

Gail,

My suggestion would be to reserve at a couple of the places you're interested in before you go, take a look at them the first day you get there, and then cancil your reservations for the places that aren't contenders. That said, here are a few of my picks (I will attempt to suggest a few places that others may have missed):

1. Hugo's Cellar: Located under the Four Queens (downtown) this brick and wood restaurant is a dinosaur. Wonderful ambience, exceptional service and great comtinental cuisine: they don't build them like this anymore.

2. Moongate: Located in the Mirage this beautiful Chinese restaurant allows you to dine among cherry trees in full blossom (sure, they're fake--but beautiful none-the-less). Fine service backed by well-rendered cuisine. This is one of the few places you can have Peking Duck without ordering it 24 hours in advance--exquisite!

3. Binion's Steakhouse: Located at the top of Binion's Casino downtown (where else!?) this fine restaurant combines prime steaks (they own their own cattle company) with views of downtown Vegas. No, it's not nearly as high as the Voodoo Lounge or the Stratosphere but their prices aren't nearly as high, either.

Being partial to the Mirage (I stay there frequently) I also recommend their teppan yaki Restaurant called The Mikado. With its real streams and Japanese artwork and setting, this place gives the impression of dining in a royal Japanese estate. The last chef we had there was a teppan yaki teacher and was nothing short of astounding to watch.

Godd luck,

DJ

I'd suggest Quark's Bar for an out of this world atmosphere and a wide variety of females.

I would suggest The Olympic Gardens This is a wild place with lots of gorgeous people and a really fine floor show. If you tip (just like Vegas!)you can get a table close to the stage. After the show there is an opportunity to meet the performers!! Great time and most are really friendly. With this kind iof atmosphere who cares about the food---or if they even serve it!! Go here and have an exotic good time!!

Gail, I go to vegas every year for my b-day and usually have dinner at Bertollini's in Ceasars because you get to sit "outside" by the fountains. It reminds me so much of sitting in the plazas in Rome!

I've been to Red Square and found it a bit overhyped. Didn't book at Aureole as the food reviews are so hot/cold.

I have been to The Olympic Garden and would highly reccommend this place also. Exotic? YES!! Beautiful people? YES!!! Fun Crowd? YES!!! Do the performers mingle and talk with the audience after their sets? Most do and it is part of the fun!!! I say start your night here and you won't go anywhere else!! A great find in Vegas!!
