For $1.99, I thought the wine was pretty good. I wonder if I could buy a case of wine, wrap it up like a Birthday Gift, and get it on a cruise ship?

Wrap it carefully in the bubble wrap. Pack gently in your checked luggage. When you get to the destination, unpack and unwrap, throw out the 2 buck Chuck and lick the bubble wrap. It will be better than the wine you threw away.
By the way, I'm not much of a white wine drinker but I did think the white 2 buck chuck was "sort of drinkable". The red? You've got to be kidding me!

Possibly another idea is the box wine market. There are some decent ones out there and they might be easier to conceal in a larger box. One box typically holds 4 bottles so just a few boxes packed in something a little larger but not the size of "a case of wine" which I am sure the ships crew knows to look out for might be easier to slip by with.
Carmenet Vintner's Collection and Washington Hills are 2 that are not too bad.

Good idea, No_name. I should check into the boxed wines.
If I drink too much, I'll post pictures licking the bubble wrap.
I purchased the wine in San Diego at Trader Joe's. I find it amazing how cheap wine is in France, Germany and Spain and how we in the States feel we need to pay so much for a bottle.

Regarding taking the wine on board - we cruise often and have cruised recently. We always carry wine on board with no problems whatsoever. They don't mind wine because they charge corkage ($10 last time). Its the liquor you have to pack away. In fact the last time we cruised we saw several passengers with full cases on their luggage carriers. The cruise lines we use are Holland America Princess and Celebrity. Don't know the policy of the other lines.
