I loved that! Short easy quiz, and I was astonished because they knew I was from Philly! (Of course I've lived in Fla for the last 23 years and both my children have been 'accused' of being from Philly, even tho they were born and raised in St. Pete...)

Mine came out Midland, and I'm a native Californian. My dad was from the Midland area though. My mom's also a native Californian.

AustinTraveler Dec 4th, 2006 11:32 AM

Mine came out West but with a disclaimer that I might not be from the West at all as I have no discernable accent. That's dead on since I was not born in this country and grew up mainly in Florida. People have always told me they can't figure out where I'm from by my accent. Maybe it's cause I don't have one!

ncgrrl Dec 4th, 2006 11:33 AM

Midland. Ha, I speak with a lovely southern accent.

GoTravel Dec 4th, 2006 11:36 AM

HA!

Mine said The West or 'No Accent'and I'm born and bred deep south.

coconutwilly Dec 4th, 2006 11:37 AM

What gahbage! I'm from Hawaii and it says I have a Boston accent. I've only been to Havahd once.

toedtoes Dec 4th, 2006 11:39 AM

Mine came out The West with the disclaimer also. Of course, I'm a native Californian.

Diana Dec 4th, 2006 11:44 AM

Midland?! Uh, no way. Southern through and through.

bennnie Dec 4th, 2006 11:48 AM

Wow - It quite accurately picked up on my Boston accent without a single question about cah or car.

hdm Dec 4th, 2006 11:51 AM

Interesting...I'm Canadian (Toronto) so I thought I might fool it but nope, my accent is 'inland north'!

tpatricco Dec 4th, 2006 11:54 AM

Mine was perfect. Northeast. And that's where I come from too! :)

When I was in Calgary recently on business the group was amazed that "I had no accent". I knew I didn't!

djkbooks Dec 4th, 2006 11:56 AM

Wow. I came up Philadephia or near, and I was born and raised near Baltimore. People have always told me I have no discernable accent, even though everyone else in my immediate family has a definite Baltimore accent.

Well, after living in New England for almost 30 years, I'm really glad I haven't picked up a Boston or New England accent.

lizziea06 Dec 4th, 2006 11:56 AM

Inland North - all the way! Raised in Chicago, have lived in the NE for 9 years.

placeu2 Dec 4th, 2006 11:57 AM

Caught me right on. Inland North. Wisconsin or perhaps Chicago to be exact. First 23 years of my life in WI, next 24 in Chicago.

How's that for accurate?

stevefrat Dec 4th, 2006 12:02 PM

They accurately pegged me as a Philadelphian.

travelinwifey Dec 4th, 2006 12:05 PM

Another Philly Northeasterner here too. Guess that's because I grew up in PA:) I'm surprised, I thought I lost all of my NE dialect years ago. My spouse says my accent used to be so thick it got to him but now I think I have no accent at all, or do I?:D Cute quiz.

travelinwifey Dec 4th, 2006 12:09 PM

Pretty good, my spouse also came out "The West" also. I kept asking him if he was sure that's how he pronounced the words?:D

FainaAgain Dec 4th, 2006 12:12 PM

I am not trying! [-X

bobrad Dec 4th, 2006 12:17 PM

Right on with New England
