My Husband & I got married in Las Vegas on St. Patrick's Day in 1990 right before the Excalibur was finished. We had forty of our best friends & family follow us down there from all over to be married. The day I got married was the best day of my life... I was in an exciting & fun town, the weather was 90 degrees, and I was sitting around the pool before I was married. The wedding chapel sent a comped limo to pick us up, we went directly to city hall to pick up our marriage licence, and were surrounded by a group of other couples who were being married on the same day!
We then went to the "Chapel of the Bells" right on the strip & had a great ceremony & a reception in our room afterwards. I would never have done it differently. In fact this last Halloween my younger brother did the same thing in Vegas. You & all your guests are totally relaxed, there is no pressure for anyone involved & I would do it again in a minute!! Good luck with your choice. VIVA LAS VEGAS!!!

Hi Myrna, and everyone else!

I happened upon this by accident! Myrna there are travel agents who are Destination Wedding Specialists. I happened to be one, but am NOT soliciting my services. Contact a few travel agents in your area, or better yet get referrals of good agents from friends. Ask the travel agent if they have anyone on staff that speicalizes in Destination Weddings. There are many details they need to know, most importantly where is the best place to plan a wedding on 12/31, what are the licensing requirements, what is the wedding and honeymoon style of the bride and groom, what types of things do they enjoy doing as a couple, etc. They should be able to have a profile for your son and fiance to fill out that will help to guide them. By the way, a Destination Wedding Specialist should be able to handle ALL details! I make all restaurant reservations, tux rentals, obviously all wedding details, excursions, you name it! find an agent that will graciously and courteously handle all details. After all, the prime reason for letting someone else handle the details is so the BRIDE and GROOM can relax! I've never been on this before, and don't have time to monitor any questions, but you can contact me at the email address listed if you have any other questions. I know a lot of agents across the U.S.

Good luck...Denise
