weather

Hi! I am all set and ready to leave. Thanks to everyone who has helped answer questions for me.
I have been monitoring the weather for Charlotte and Asheville and it looks like tomorrow through Monday is going to be absolutely beatiful during the day.
Are the nights cool? It says 59* for the low, but I would assume that it might feel cooler in Asheville (especially mountainous areas) 59* here in Stl, usually doesn't feel that cool, especially with the humidity, but there, it might...does that make sense?
should I bring jeans and a jacket?
Also, for the daytime hours, does it get humid there?
Someone told me there are no mosquitos in NC...is that true? lol

Thanks!
Christy

There are plenty of mosquitos in North Carolina. Otherwise your information looks good, our weather predictions for the long weekend are just beautiful, warm days, low humidity and cooler evenings. Bring a light jacket and enjoy being in the great state of North Carolina.

The weather in Asheville and the mountains of western North Carolina is going to be great for Labor Day weekend. Highs in the mid to upper 70s, and lows in the mid 50s. Awesome.

It has been a lot cooler in the evenings and mornings here in ASheville - don't know about 59 though - maybe at higher elevations. During the day's it has been clear and sunny - 80's and I think that will be the same for the weekend. We haven't had too many problems with mosquitos this year - I've only had to put on repellant once.

on another note - what you do want to be aware of as well is the gas situation here. Supplies are lower and prices higher due to the crisis in the Gulf. I assume you are renting a car? When you see a station that has gas I would advise you to fill up - don't worry so much about price shopping.
