Hello,

Looking into renting one of the time share guest houses at the Trapp Family Lodge next summer. Has anyone done this before? Any comments??

Let me know....thanks.

The guest houses are little chalets set on the hill across from the main lodge. The view is beautiful! The restaurant in the lodge is wonderful too. Something they don't advertise - if you are looking to stay in the lodge but want more space, you can rent what was Maria's apartment in the lodge. You can pull your car right up to the back door and it has 2 bedrooms and a nice living room.

Not only have I never been there, I don't even know where in the heck it is!!

Not everyone here is knowledgeable about every lodge-Inn-resort-shopping mall-condo-restaurant, etc. whithout letting us newcomers know WHERE IN THE H--- IT IS LOCATED.

Sarah - no need for you to apologize to ignorant people. We went there a few years ago, my mom had seen the place on one of her trips and always wanted to go back and stay there. The chalets are really nice, they have a beautiful view. The place is very well run, property is beautiful, the restaurant was great. There's lots to do or just relax and enjoy nature.

I'm sure it's a lovely location, good food, etc. but I've always found it deeply ironic that they do not allow children. ("Adieu, adieu, to you and you and you...")

We stayed at the Trapp Family Lodge a few years ago (did not rent a guest house, stayed in the lodge). Our experience there was not good. While the property looks beautiful from the outside, we found our room and the pool areas to be another story. Considering the rate we were paying, we expected the room to be in much better condition. First of the all the toilet was not in working order- we had to make a service call. Second, there were no screens on the windows (and no A/C, so mosquitos flew in the windows). Only one SMALL rotater fan to circulate the air. In addition, the pull out couch had the springs coming through the matress, so we could not use it to sleep on. Perhaps our experience was an isolated incident, but we were not impressed and found the resort to be way overpriced for what you got.
