Sounding like a broken record, I'm sure, but ask on www.lvol.com board if you don't get many answers here. My short list contains Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyon, and Mount Charleston.

If you're feeling adventurous you could always visit the legendary 'Area 51'. This is located some 90 odd miles North of Vegas near the small town of Rachel. Also known as Groom Lake it is a top secret airforce base that the US government refuses to admit even exists. It is where all the latest military aircraft are tested & has the longest paved runway in the world ( 6 miles ). It owes it's place in legend due to rumours that a UFO crashed in New Mexico & was taken, along with its dead crew, to Groom Lake for study. Some people claim that the UFO has been 'reverse engineered', flown by humans etc. etc. The base definitely exists but as to the UFO - who knows ?
There's a small 'Motel' - the 'Little Ale'inn' ( Get it ? ) which, if memory serves, consists of trailer accomodation. Be aware that the perimiter of the base is reputedly patrolled by ex Navy Seals known as 'Cammo Dudes' due to their clothing. Should you wander over the perimiter they are authorised to use Deadly Force if neccesary to halt your further progress......
If this 'adventure' appeals check out this web site :-
