Short Stay in Ann Arbor for football weekend

Visiting mid-October for Michigan's game against Indiana - need suggestions for hotel, VRBO, motel, other lodging...will train over from Chicago, staying Friday and Saturday nights - would like to stay within walking distance (2 miles) of the stadium, although will entertain a greater distance and a cab/bus ride if suggested accommodations are enticing

There are several hotels south of downtown around Briarwood Mall including a Candlewood Suites, Extended Stay America, Four Points, Holiday Inn and Courtyard. They would be a short cab ride from the train station which is north of downtown. The Briarwood area also has many restaurants.

You could try The Bell Tower Inn or Campus Inn downtown, but I'm sure they'd be the first to fill.

The Ann Arbor Transportation Authority operates shuttles from a number of spots around the area. The fare is $1.50 each way. http://www.theride.org/football.asp

Hey man, nice to hear from you...thanks for asking - my wife and I had a priority visit with my 97 year old uncle in Ann Arbor the next day, so we waited around under the stands for about 2 hours, then decided we needed our rest for the next day travel and visit - consequently we hailed a cab back to the Loop and missed the main set - however, we've seen the band a number of times and enjoyed the opening set and definitely had great seats just behind the first base dugout - really special event venue and got an amazing lightning show just before the break...btw: had a great visit with my uncle and sister
