Disneyland Hotels
Need recommendations for not-too-expensive hotels within walking distance or more likely a
short drive/public transportation from Anaheim Disneyland...visiting 2 nights, 3 days early

Sorry for the long link. I don't know how to shorten it. At any rate there are many less expensive hotels around Disneyland. Check out the link or other sites on google.

We stayed at the Econo Lodge on Harbor Blvd. last October. It was a very short drive from the motel to our parking area. You could walk it, but we chose not to, knowing we would be pretty tired by the end of the day.

We stayed at the Candy Cane Inn in Anaheim. This was a few years ago but just went to Trip Advisor and it is still ranked at No 2 out of all the Anaheim hotels/motels. It is about a 6 minute walk to Disneyland but there is also a shuttle run by Candy Cane that we took occasionally. It is more of a motel than a hotel I guess with plenty of parking outside the rooms. There is also free breakfast.

There are a number of hotels right across the street from the main gate entrance to the parks on S. Harbor Blvd. The closest (pretty much directly in front of the crosswalk) is a Best Western, I believe.
We usually stay at the Desert Inn and Suites, which just a few properties down from the Best Western.

We have gone three times and always stay at the Residence Inn Marriot. It has a free breakfast that is worth having, especially with kids. The rooms are mainly suites so you have a little kitchen to keep a few things for snacks and making lunches.
You can walk about a kilometer to Disney or there is a shuttle (we have never used the shuttle).
Best part of this hotel is the beautiful pool area. It's small but very nicely landscaped.
