Trip Report/Phoenix

We got back from a week in Phoenix/Scottsdale on Sunday, and despite the very hot weather, it was a marvelous destination.

We stayed at the Westin Kierland, a new resort that is adjacent to some beautiful shops and wonderful restaurants, including PF Chang; Ocean Club; Ra (sushi), among others. The Westin is child- and pet-friendly, with two pools (one for adults only); and also a current "river" you can meander through in a tube. It was very relaxing. The hotel was gorgeous, offering something for everyone.

We took a day trip to Sedona/Jerome and did some fierce shopping. We also spent a 1/2 day at the Desert Botanical Garden (very hot, even early in the a.m.) and cooled off at the Phoenix Art Museum.

I'd recommend it for anyone who needs a getaway (and who doesn't?)!

Thanks for the report. I am headed to scottsdale for the first time ever at the end of august. Any places in particular you enjoyed for breakfast and dinner?

The Ocean Club was fabulous, a bit pricey but worth it. PF Chang had very good Chinese food and Ra had good sushi (try the AZ roll). We went to the Marriott in Camelback for Sunday brunch.

Have a great trip!

We ordered off the menu. Their brunch buffet looked very nice, but at $50 per person, we chose not to indulge!
